In March 2019, Simon Hills became the new ILO co-lead of the Child Labour task force. Simon has been based in Geneva as the ILO Technical Specialist in Fundamentals and Principle Rights at Work (FPRW) in Europe, Arab States and in Fragile Situations and Emergencies since February 2019. The FPRW unit focuses on issues of forced labour, child labour, anti-discrimination and the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. Prior to this, Simon worked with the ILO in Beirut, Lebanon on skills and vocational training and acted as a focal point for the ILO’s response in Lebanon to the Syria refugee crisis. He has also worked in the Philippines, Kenya, Somalia and Cambodia.
