Children and Young People Living for Peace (CYPLP)

Children and Young People Living for Peace (CYPLP) is a social think tank of young volunteers, a not for profit, youth-focused civil society organization in Kaduna State, Nigeria. We are membership based and recruit members online, then develop them to problem solve and create social values as change agents in their local communities in Nigeria and across Africa. At the heart of what we do is the power of imagination.

From onset when we begin operation, our team designs social solutions that catalyze, disrupt, activate and empower citizens through small local programs. We come to help lift people out of poverty through Agriculture as a sustainable solution. We use technology and innovations to spark social change.

We continuously learn, unlearn and relearn creative ways of solving and resolving social problems in local communities with sustainable approaches that stands the test of time.

Our interest is a peaceful and progressive West Africa. We work for the good of the most vulnerable children and young people and people living with disabilities, including most marginalised groups.

CYPLP trains and develops school teachers, coaches, caregivers, youth workers, etc. in the areas of Peace and Conflict Resolution, Radicalization and Violent Extremism, Migration, Child Trafficking, Child’s Rights and Human Rights. We uses sport, music and drama to communicate, and over the years we  have done several localized social programs that have yielded great impact on the lives of our everyday target group, including out-of-school children.

We  work through schools, orphanages and slums in hard-to-reach locations, with a core intent to create peace of mind to vulnerable children and young people in Nigeria and Africa.

As a social enterprise, we create, develop and implement creative programs geared at creating and accelerating job opportunities digitally for young people, especially girls, through ICT training skills, capacity building and empowerment.
