The Secretariat supports fund-raising efforts, implementation of work plans, pilot-testing tools and products and knowledge management. The Secretariat is also responsible for general convening, including the Child Protection in Humanitarian Action Annual Meeting.
Child Protection Specialist
Achieng Kokonya is a Child Protection Specialist with more than 10 years’ experience in child protection, mostly in emergency settings. She has worked in eastern and southern Africa and Asia.
Currently, she is supporting the secretariat of the Alliance in membership, organization of the 2020 Annual Meeting, COVID-19 related tasks, and review of the 2018-2020 strategic work-plans.
Audrey Bollier is the Coordinator for the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, on behalf of Plan International. Audrey has 14 years of humanitarian experience, including almost a decade in the field of Child Protection in Emergencies in various contexts including Sri Lanka, Iraq and South Sudan. For the last three years, Audrey has worked on the Syria Crisis response in Jordan and subsequently at regional level as Child Protection Advisor.
Hani Mansourian is the Coordinator for the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, on behalf of UNICEF. Hani has worked with children and refugee populations in development and humanitarian contexts since 2000. He has worked with local and international NGOs as well as several UN agencies. Hani has participated in child protection responses in over a dozen humanitarian contexts.
COVID-19 Focal Point
Judi Fairholm is the Co-Lead of the COVID-19 Focal Point Team for the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action. As a Senior Associate Member with Proteknon, Judi has worked on a variety of projects including Caritas Internationalis and Sesame Street. Before joining Proteknon, Judi was the National Director of Respect Education with the Canadian Red Cross. Judi has worked both nationally and internationally with numerous governments, researchers, Indigenous communities, children and youth, organizations, NGO’s and Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies. She has integrated violence prevention, safeguarding and psychosocial programs into numerous sectors including disaster response and recovery. Throughout her career, Judi has received numerous awards and has worked on projects in over 20 countries as educator, program developer, risk manager, writer, consultant, disaster responder and program evaluator.
COVID-19 Focal Point
Laura Lee is the Co-Lead of the COVID-19 Focal Point Team for the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, on behalf of Plan International. She has more than 15 years of experience in strengthening global child, adolescent and youth health programming and protection and services in adversity settings. Specializing in community-based participatory research methodologies, gender, child protection and participation, and program planning and evaluation, she has designed and implemented projects with children and youth in various countries in East and Southern Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and North and South America.
Knowledge Management Focal Point
Sara Lim Bertrand
Sara Lim Bertrand is the knowledge management focal point for the Alliance. Sara has more than 18 years of experience in child protection, GBV, education in emergencies and learning and development. Sara has combined her interests in KM, design and technology to take on this role. She is currently heading the development of the Alliance’s new website to serve our KM requirements; leading our knowledge product and special event launches; and supporting the overall translation of technical information into analysed, actionable knowledge.
Prevention Focal Point
Anne-Laure has a background in international humanitarian law and international criminal law as well as 10 years of experience in Child Protection. She has worked with international NGOs in various contexts such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Jordan, and UNHCR in France. She is currently based in Brussels with her husband and two-year-old daughter.
Technical Focal Point
Mark joined as a consultant across INEE & The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, working in collaboration between child protection and education in emergencies. Mark has over 14 years’ experience managing large-scale programmes with major international NGOs, primarily on Education in Emergencies, but also programme development and quality, as well as inter-agency coordination. Most recently he was Head of No Lost Generation, covering education, child protection, and youth engagement across the Syria response region. Prior to international work, Mark was teaching in one of the most deprived areas of the UK, giving him first-hand experience of the power of education to transform the lives of children and young people.
