Lebanon: Emergency Coordinator - Beirut

Context:
Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh) opened its delegation in Lebanon in 1973. The main coordination office is in Beirut and there are 2 sub-offices, one in Tyre and one in Zahle. A new field office is currently being established in Saida. Tdh’s main programmatic pillars in Lebanon are Migration, Protection and Justice, and the emergency sectors include basic assistance, site management, Wash and – potentially – Health. Tdh and its local partners are currently responding in Southern Lebanon, Beirut and Mount Lebanon and Beqaa.
Responsibilities:
The Emergency Coordinator, under the supervision of the Head of Programs, will ensure the following core set of tasks, on behalf of Terre des hommes (Tdh):
- Oversight and coordination of all emergency response activities implemented in Lebanon, and development and monitoring of the emergency portfolio.
- Internal and External coordination and representation of Tdh with government authorities, humanitarian coordination groups, all Tdh departments, stakeholders, (I)NGOs and Partners.
- Management of the two emergency team leaders (South and East)

Profile:
Education:
- Professional university degree in the social sciences, in social work, or in a relevant field Is mandatory.
Experience & Competencies:
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the progressive management of international projects with NGOs or international organizations.
- Previous experience in emergency response.
- Project management experience
- Experience in multi-sector basic needs programming, including in the sectors of Basic Assistance (shelter, food security, NFIs), child protection and GBV.
- Previous experience and understanding of the Lebanon and/or MENA context is a strong asset.
Languages:
- Excellent written and spoken English. Arabic an asset.
IT:
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Conditions:
- Swiss contract
- Gross monthly salary between CHF 5’000.- and CHF 5’500.- depending on experience - x13,36 months
- Insurances: sickness, accident, repatriation
- Annual leaves: 25 days/year
- Flights to duty station and back
