United Kingdom: Global Youth Engagement Lead
To champion child and youth engagement in Amnesty International's campaigning and research efforts. To contribute to realizing Amnesty's Global Children and Youth Strategy and the Rights Click programme, a 6-year Programme committed to advancing children and young people's digital rights globally, as well as in Argentina, Kenya and the Philippines.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have proven experience in advocating for and facilitating youth participation, and have a passion for children and young people's rights. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to establish good working relationships with colleagues from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in an informal manner.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of a methodology for youth-led research.
- Facilitate youth-led advocacy reflecting the diverse needs, realities and perspectives of children and young people and amplify their voices at global events.
- Support and guide the Global Youth Campaigner in creating tools and delivering trainings on digital campaigning, together with the Global Digital Campaigner.
- Steer the participation of children and youth activists into the design, implementation and monitoring of global campaigning efforts (including Flagship Campaigns, Write for Rights), and in other strategic areas of Amnesty's work, with the support of the Youth Network Coordinator.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience facilitating active participation of children and young people in campaigning and research, and in supporting peers in doing the same.
- Knowledge of children and youth inclusion, and more broadly of diversity and inclusion programming.
- Recognized experience in overseeing, coordinating, and liaising between different teams and staff for promoting meaningful youth engagement.
- Significant experience with facilitating and delivering virtual and face to face workshops and trainings in international, cross cultural contexts and/or with diverse groups.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and convening skills in English.
