TITLE: Child Protection Case Management Specialist

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Venezuelan Response

LOCATION: Bogotá and field locations

GRADE: TBD

CONTRACT LENGTH:

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Child Protection Case Management (CM) Specialist will provide quality assurance, content development and set up the case management system for Save the Children Colombian response for Venezuelan migrant children. In collaboration with the Child Protection Technical Advisor and the programme teams he/she will adapt the inter-agency tools and standards for Child Protection Case Management in emergencies to the Colombian context.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Child Protection Technical Advisor

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

Standardising tools and approaches

-Review and adapt standard case management tools and approaches on a regular basis to the Colombian Context;

-Support Case Management Coordinators, Officers and Case Workers in La Guajira and Arauca to effectively use case management tools and forms;

-Develop additional guidance, as needed, for Case Workers.

-Support the update of service mapping exercise, including SWOT anaylisis;

-Liaise with MHPSS/SGBV Specialist ensuring mhpss/sgbv component are safely integrated within Case Management system;

Capacity building & support

-Facilitate 4 days trainings packages for CP Managers, CM Coordinators, Officers and Case Workers;

-Work closely with Case Management Coordinators to build their technical capacity

-Support the implementation of case management SOPs.

-Support Case Workers to respond to complex cases.

-Delivering trainings to staff on topics related to child protection and case management.

-Attend and feed into case management meetings in all locations where possible;

-Develop Supervision and Coaching Training package for Case Management;

External relations and coordination

-Attend on behalf of Save the Children in the inter-agency meetings and other initiatives related to case management.

-Ensure that coordination with other actors is happening effectively in each location.

MEAL, reporting and documentation

-Support case workers in documentation and the use of case management forms.

-Train and conduct case file audits.

-Ensure the implementation of a child protection data protection protocol in case management, ensuring that Case Workers understand and apply data management principles.

-Draft reports based on trends of cases for donors as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

-University degree in social work (or similar) preferable

-Advanced university degree in social work preferable, but not required

-Five years professional experience in International settings with International NGOS/UN Agencies

-Social work experience with children at national or international level

-Experience in working in Child Protection programs in emergencies, including in refugee situations

-Proven experience in case management capacity building (development of SOPs, development and delivery of trainings to different audiences)

-Experience and understanding of child protection and case management in Colombian context preferable

-Ability to develop training, manuals, and tools at high level

-Proved experience in delivering training with a variety of audiences

-Experienced in setting up and maintaining databases for case management services

Fluency in English mandatory, fluency in Greek preferred
