ToT / CPMS Facilitation workshop: The latest in this global series of workshops was held in Nairobi on March 27-31. 25 participants from over 10 countries and 13 organizations gathered for a week of theory of learning and practice of their skills. Sessions ranged from troubleshooting panels to an exercise contextualizing off-the-shelf modules, from best practices in monitoring and evaluating our capacity-building efforts to contextualizing the CPMS. Many thanks to all the agencies who enabled such a successful event – our hosts, those who lent staff, filmed the participants, came to present a topic. etc. And finally, we are pleased to announce that the CPMS Working Group has funds for one more workshop in the next year; more information will be provided on the Alliance website.
The CPMS Working Group is happy to announce a webinar series for CPiE trainers. Selected topics include: case studies (how to develop them and use them effectively in capacity-building); sexual violence against marginalized children (what is the latest evidence, positive programming practices; training tips); mapping tools for child protection (high tech and low tech approaches to mapping), and more. Look out for details of each session on the Facebook page and twitter feed. While most will be in English, we are organizing to have at least one session each in French, Spanish, and Arabic.
A short e-course introducing the basics of the CPMS has been developed. It blends basic information with the CPMS video series, and then quizzes viewers to see what they have learnt. The course was piloted in Georgia in March and received feedback from the Community of Practice of CPiE trainers. The goal is to roll out a final version in May.
