On behalf of the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action’s Child Labour Focal Point, we are pleased to host the webinar ‘Child Labour in Emergencies: Introducing the New Interagency Toolkit’.
Preventing and responding to child labour in emergencies is a core part of the mandate of the global Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action and the Child Protection Area of Responsibility (AoR). Since 2015 the Child Labour Task Force of the Alliance, has been collecting good practice and developing global guidance to support practitioners address child labour in their humanitarian programmes. In 2016 the Interagency Toolkit on Protecting Child Labourers in Emergencies (field testing version) was published and disseminated.
The toolkit is being field-tested throughout 2017, and this will be the first in a series of webinars to develop and support a global community of good practice for those implementing activities to address child labour in emergencies.
The webinar introduced the toolkit and its key features/guidance, as well as the piloting process. There were field examples of how the toolkit has been applied, and a discussion / Q&A.
- Introduction to the toolkit and pilot process (Alyson Eynon)
- Plan International using the toolkit to design assessment methodology (Lotte Claessens)
- Using the toolkit to develop coordinated interagency and multi-sector strategy (Alyson Eynon)
