Information Session | “The War on Children” Call for Papers
The Alliance invites members and partners to join an information session on the Call for Papers for the special issue “The War on Children,” an Official Publication of the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (ISPCAN).
Children affected by armed conflict continue to face grave violations, displacement, and increasing protection risks across multiple contexts. At the same time, practitioners, communities, and organisations are developing innovative approaches to prevent harm and support children’s recovery. This special issue aims to document and amplify research and practice-based evidence on protecting children in armed conflict, with a strong focus on frontline experience and locally grounded solutions.
This session will provide an overview of the special issue and support potential contributors to engage with the Call for Papers. Participants will:
- Learn about the objectives and policy relevance of the special issue
- Understand the submission process, timeline, and expectations
- Explore how field experience and programmatic evidence can be developed into publishable contributions
- Identify opportunities for collaboration between practitioners, researchers, and local actors
- Ask questions and connect with potential contributors
With the submission deadline extended to 15 June 2026, this session offers an opportunity to strengthen the representation of diverse, practice-based perspectives in global discussions on protecting children affected by armed conflict.
