Philippines: Project Coordinator - SUPREME
The post is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the project, SUPREME or Strengthening Quality of Intrapartum and Newborn Care among Public and Private Health Midwives in Selected Cities and Municipalities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) - Phase 3. For this final phase of the project, it will focus on the institutionalization of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) initiatives and best practices for sustainability by local project partners. The PC shall ensure that the following strategies focusing on sustainability are facilitated:
- Midwives and community health workers are capacitated on skills relevant to quality MNCHN service delivery including intrapartum and newborn care;
- The Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines or IMAP Cotabato-Maguindanao Chapter is supported in their organizational development;
- Technical and logistical support are provided to LGUs in the integration of e-health solutions;
- Service delivery network (SDN) and Maternal and Newborn Death Surveillance and Response (MNDSR) are formalize and their functionality strengthened through policy support and regular coordinative meetings; and
The filing of a bill in the Lower House of the Philippine Congress for the amendment of the Midwifery Law of 2016 and advocacy activities is continuously supported.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- University degree on Health, Nutrition or Social Sciences
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in program management or in implementing programs in development or humanitarian contexts
- Technical knowledge and working experience on maternal, neonatal and child health and nutrition.
- Familiarity with First 1,000 Days Law
- Familiarity with children's rights and children's issues
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to keep track of the quality and status of own or others' work
- Good interpersonal and communications skills
- Good writing skills; able to write reports and briefing papers
- Proven ability in facilitating meetings, workshops, and other group processes
- Highly organized, with good attention to detail and developed ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines and organize work
- Proven experience of using MS office application (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and desk-top publishing software
- Strong customer servicing skills
- Experience in problem solving
- Willingness to travel frequently
