The Conflict Sensitivity and Peacebuilding Programming Guide is a tool for UNICEF field staff and leadership to understand, situate and operationalize conflict sensitivity and peacebuilding through UNICEF’s existing work or new initiatives in different contexts and in partnership with other stakeholders. This Programming Guide can be used as a stand-alone resource, or as a reference for UNICEF staff that have completed a workshop through the HATIS Capacity Development Project (CO, RO or online). Each tool and concept introduced should be contextualized and adapted to the realities, dynamics and needs of the context in which it is used. It is, therefore, not an exhaustive guide but provides a framework that can then be further elaborated through existing CO knowledge. In each chapter, a few sector-specific examples are shared to further shed light on how a given concept can be applied across sectoral pillars.
