Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh), with headquarters in Lausanne and an office in Zurich, is the leading Swiss organisation for child rights. In 2022, we supported 2.6 million children and members of their communities around the world. We trained people who in turn supported a further 4.5 million children and members of their communities.

Context:
In MENA, Tdh is present in 8 countries, relying on teams based in Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, working closely with regional and national partners.
Responsibilities:
The Regional Child Protection and Migration Coordinator acts as a technical advisor and is responsible for the quality implementation of the child protection interventions in the MENA region (60% of LoE) and the quality implementation of migration programme (40% of LoE). S/he provides guidance and support in her/his area of expertise to programs and delegations in the region, in both fragile and development contexts. S/He actively participate to the development of new projects on Protection and/or on Migration and Displacement. S/He ensures the adoption and integration of child protection frameworks, methodologies, and standards in collaboration with the programs and delegations. The Regional Coordinator provides technical support to operations in her/his areas of responsibilities and supports the quality assurance system. S/He represents the organization in child protection and in the area of migration / displacement in the region and participates in resource mobilization and knowledge management.
The position is part of the Child Protection global team while it is also considered as part of the Children and Youth on the Move program global team and of the regional MENA team.

Profile:
Education:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Humanities, Social Work) from an accredited educational institution
Experience & Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking, with an openness to change and a taste for innovation;
- High-level representational skills;
- Experience in advocacy for public policy change a strong asset;
- Self-motivated, with skills to support and advise others;
- Able to manage high volume of work flow efficiently with minimal supervision;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships at all levels within the organisation in pluridisciplinary and multicultural teams or through networks and alliances
- 5+ years of experience in child protection (including experience in Humanitarian and volatile contexts);
- Demonstrated professional experience in the implementation and supervision of child protection projects, including team and partnership management;
- Solid understanding and experience in child protection and migration, with a particular emphasis on migration dynamics in the region;
- Experience in training, capacity development and coaching of professionals or other social actors on child protection related issues (multi country context will be an asset);
- Experience in proposal development and donor engagement;
- Deep knowledge of the MENA region
- Ideally, the candidate will have already carried out similar work in an NGO or in an organisation working at an international level
Languages:
- High proficiency in spoken and written in English;
- Arabic preferrable.
IT:
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Salary:
Expatriate contract under Swiss regulations between CHF 5200.- and CHF 5700.- net /month according to experience x 13 times, Vacancy: 25 days annual leaves local accommodation and transportation, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, return flight.
