
One Year On from the First Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children: A Call to Strengthen Commitment to Children Affected by Conflict and Crisis
It’s been one year since the first Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children, held in Bogotá in 2024 — a milestone moment that united governments and partners around a shared vision: A world where every child grows up safe and free from violence.
Since then, there’s been meaningful progress. But for many children living through conflict and crisis, protection remains out of reach. From Gaza to Sudan and Haiti, children continue to bear the brunt of violence, displacement, and neglect.
As we look back on this first year, the Alliance joins partners around the world in celebrating what’s been achieved but we must strengthen our collective and political commitment to place children affected by crisis and conflict—and their protection—at the centre of humanitarian and development agendas.
