As part of a multisectoral project, this research aims to determine whether and to what extent cash assistance can help to change the living conditions of different categories of families, with a focus on the needs and well- be their children.

The speakers will present the evidence and results of a program carried out in the DRC - Democratic Republic of the Congo and wish to initiate a reflection on the need to improve the adaptation of assessment tools to the specific context/area of ​​action.

Speaker Bios: 

Michela Zani holds a Master of Sciences in Humanitarian Action and has 4 years of working experience in humanitarian and emergency settings, focusing mainly in the field of Education and Protection. Michela started her collaboration with AVSI in 2017 working as M&E Focal point for Education projects in Lebanon. In 2019 she joined AVSI DRC team in Democratic Republic of the Congo as M&E Manager and she is currently working in regular collaboration with the Head of Programs in the design of new project proposals and in the conduction of quantitative and qualitative field evaluations. 

Miriam Ruscio is a Development and Humanitarian professional with 12 years of experience in programs development, programs and projects management. She is currently Head of Programs in AVSI Democratic Republic of Congo, giving technical assistant on program development and management, with a focus on education and protection programs in emergency context. She joined AVSI in 2011 in Haiti as Project Manager, working for 8 years in programs supporting children engaged in armed conflicts, child workers and women’s rights and protection. She has a Master Degree in Development Economics and International Cooperation.
