Our goal is to develop a global pool of champions who know how to use the CPMS to improve the quality and accountability of children’s protection in humanitarian settings.  

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Work for an Alliance member agency
  • Able to study and learn in English (written and spoken)
  • Access to stable internet
  • Available for the 5 two-hour sessions as they are live and interactive
  • Eager to learn!
  • Experience as a Child Protection or other humanitarian worker

DATES: 

  • Monday, August 7th and 14th - 12:30-2:30 pm (CEST)
  • Wednesday, August 9th, 16th, and 28th - 12:30-2:30 pm (CEST)

COURSE STRUCTURE: 

  1. 4 two-hour, facilitated sessions online + 30 min of assigned homework per session; followed by
  2.  Small group work over 3 weeks; followed by
  3. A 5th and final session to review the groups’ work and overall learning.

FACILITATORS: 

Experienced trainers from the Alliance’s global CPMS Working Group, with additional speakers from across the Alliance membership.

TOPICS:

  • What are minimum standards and why use them in humanitarian settings?
  • How do the CPMS compare with other humanitarian standards and INSPIRE?
  • How do we measure our work?
  • How can standards be used to strengthen our work with other sectors?
  • How can we become more accountable for our work with children and others in the affected population?

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Short duration course – just 10 hours of class + 10 hours of course work
  • Dynamic learning environment – an interactive classroom with experienced facilitators who will mix their knowledge with practical case studies and exercises
  • Networking Opportunities with CPHA learners from around the world, as well as a chance to do group work with people in similar work settings.

CERTIFICATE: 
A completion certificate will be provided by the Alliance, and you will be invited into an ongoing group of CPMS champions, with the possibility of further training.
