About Terre des Hommes:
Terre des Hommes Netherlands aims to protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. And by empowering children to make their voices count. Terre des Hommes Netherlands focuses on (Online) Sexual Exploitation of Children, Child Labour and Humanitarian Action. For each of these forms of child exploitation, Terre des Hommes Netherlands is developing and implementing projects and programmes through local partners, mainly in Asia, Africa and Europe. Join us!
What will you work on:
You will be working on an international research project in Bangladesh, Bolivia and the Netherlands. The specific tasks and projects will be defined in agreement with the intern and will be based on interest, experience and skills. Your tasks may include:
- Supporting research interviews and focus groups in the Netherlands;
- Supporting the qualitative analysis of the data collected;
- Supporting the write up of the research report;
- Translating research into accessible, creative and easy-to-read products;
- Supporting the development and carrying out of lobby and advocacy initiatives on national or regional level;
If a thesis is a mandatory component of your studies, we are happy to discuss the possibility of combining this with your internship and looking for opportunities for you to contribute towards our research agenda.
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on intern, who:
- Has good oral and written communication skills in English;
- Studies towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, for instance in child rights, human rights, law, psychology, criminology, sociology, anthropology, international development studies, pedagogy, or any other relevant degree;
- Has knowledge on child rights, child protection, or child exploitation;
- Has experience (studies or work) with research analysis, writing and editing, experience with qualitative research methods and analysis is appreciated;
- Has good analytical skills;
- Has good organisational skills;
- We appreciate special interests in and knowledge of especially marginalised groups, indigenous, LGBTQI+ or disability rights.

- The stipend is 400 EUR per month based on 36 hours a week;
