United Kingdom: Programme Specialist - Child Protection in Emergencies
We bring people together to protect children’s rights and keep girls safe, in school and in control of their bodies – even when disaster strikes. And we won’t stop until we are all equal.
Are you ready to take a leading role in growing Plan International UK’s support to humanitarian crises globally? Are you driven to achieve results and prepared to hold yourself accountable to add value to our Humanitarian Unit? If so, we need you!
We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Specialist-Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) to join our Humanitarian team to cover a period of maternity leave.
As a Programme Specialist, you will support the development of Plan International UK’s disasters and emergencies portfolio, including programming that addresses disaster risk, and strengthens community resilience. In this you will be responsible for developing and managing a significant part of Plan International UK’s disasters grants portfolio and work across various areas, including grant management, programme development, and relationship building both internally and externally. The role will also contribute to the growth and quality of the Child Protection in Emergencies project portfolio and provide technical support.
We are looking for a confident individual with a solid background in designing and implementing humanitarian and DRR-resilience projects and in securing and overseeing projects from major humanitarian donors (such as FCDO, DEC, Start Network, UN). You will also have experience of working in a consortium to raise and manage major donor grants and the proven ability to develop and oversee grant-funded programmes across all phases of the programme cycle. In addition, you will have the ability to prioritise work and use your time effectively while paying close attention to details to produce high-quality work. Strong communication skills are essential– which includes listening, questioning, and giving feedback. Working with partners and/or in consortia is a key part of the role and your influencing and negotiating skills will therefore play a large part in helping build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our internal and external stakeholders.
If you thrive at working in partnership, enjoy building relationships across the NGO sector and have a genuine passion for our values, feminist leadership principles and vision, we would love to hear from you!
