Türkiye: Child Protection and MHPSS Officer x2 - Gaziantep

The Opportunity: 

Under the supervision of the CP & MHPSS Coordinator and with technical support from the CP & MHPSS Technical Advisor/Specialists, the CP & MHPSS Officer will support integrated community-level CP and MHPSS programming in the earthquake response. They will contribute to delivering an evidence-based, psychosocial, developmental and multi-leveled approach, in line with global and regional standards. The role of CP & MHPSS Officer will encompass day-to-day implementation and delivery of community-level CP and MHPSS interventions and services, alongside limited capacity building, coaching and supervision of Child Protection, MHPSS as well as other sector staff and partners in the target locations in collaboration with the CP & MHPSS Coordinator.

The CP& MHPSS Officer will receive regular training, support and supervision from the CP & MHPSS TA, Specialists and/or relevant technical advisors from different supporting sectors

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Essential:

  • A university degree in psychology, social science, mental health or relevant degrees
  • Experience in implementing psychosocial group sessions with children and adolescents, and knowledge on child development and child and adolescent mental health
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health & psychosocial support (MHPSS) field in the humanitarian context, and at least 1 year of experience in field staff management
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team leading and influencing
  • Strong knowledge of local context and culture
  • Strong training and facilitation skills; commitment to staff and partner development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in Turkish; Arabic, English and Kurdish is an asset.
  • Able to work and take decisions independently as well as in a multi-cultural team to ensure timely and high-quality results.
  • Capacity and willingness to be flexible in difficult working circumstances and work flexible hours when necessary.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability.
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports.
  • Awareness of staff-wellbeing and self-care principles; motivation to take on a management role.
  • Experience with refugee/marginalized communities desired.
  • Commitment to and understanding of child rights, Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and related IT systems.

Position holder will be based in Gaziantep, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application.
