Türkiye: Child Protection & MHPSS Technical Advisor (Nationals only)
The CP & MHPSS Advisor drives the strategic direction, technical leadership and program quality of the integrated CP & MHPSS program, which is at the core of SCI's Turkiye Response. The CP & MHPSS Advisor has specific responsibility for strategic planning and program development, quality assurance, as well as representation and influencing. With support from the Regional CP Advisor and MHPSS Advisor, the CP & MHPSS Advisor will build a cohesive, well-coordinated and high-quality response, in order to provide a holistic and integrated approach to addressing the child protection and MHPSS needs of children and families affected by the earthquake and other vulnerabilities. The role includes a focus on complementing and strengthening systems that promote children's rights to protection and wellbeing.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- At least 5 to 9 years of technical work experience in child protection, MHPSS, social services, child and adolescent development and/or other relevant technical work in humanitarian and development contexts or fragile states
- Master's Degree (MSc/MA level) in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Human Rights Law, International Relations, Development Studies or similar.
- Excellent technical knowledge of and experience in using key tools, approaches, inter-agency standards and guidelines for the delivery of high-quality MHPSS and child protection programming.
- Demonstrated program design, monitoring and evaluation skills, including designing pathways to sustainable impact at scale
- Able to generate and use data and evidence to innovate, deliver, learn and share what works and what doesn't work for children.
- Skilled at networking, representation and partnership development in order promote learning, strengthen civil society and mobilise resources
- Track record in successful business development including with key institutional donors. i.e. ECHO, BHA, DFAT, DANIDA, and DEC.
- Experience of context, capacity and policy analysis related to MHPSS, protection and gender to inform a holistic response and hold duty bearers to account to realise children's rights
- Significant experience in training, capacity building and mentoring
- Experience in and commitment to capacity building of staff, partners and communities, with experience in designing and delivering training and in using participatory and consultative approaches
- Experience of strategy development and planning, particularly from disaster through early recovery phases
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to motivate and engage diverse and distributed teams; politically and cultural sensitive
- Ability to be flexible, accommodating and work effectively in a difficult environment and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Commitment to and understanding of child rights, the aims and principles of Save the Children, and humanitarian standards such as the Sphere Charter and the Code of Conduct. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
- Turkish and/or Arabic language skills is highly desirable.
- Experience or knowledge of working and living Turkey and the wider region is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience working with disaster-affected communities as well as other vulnerable children and families is highly desirable.
