Webinar: Cash Transfer Programming and Child Protection in Humanitarian Action
The Cash Transfer and Child Protection Task Force held a webinar on Tuesday, 16 Apr 2019, 11:00 - 12:00 (EST, New York), to discuss the newly released report, “Cash Transfer Programming and Child Protection in Humanitarian Action: Review and Opportunities to Strengthen the Evidence”.

Webinar format
After a brief update on the report, the task force hosted a Q&A. Then members from Plan International briefly highlighted some of the work they are doing around cash and child protection to illustrate how we can practically take forward some of the recommendations in the report.
Presenter: Layal Sarrouh
Layal Sarrouh is a senior child protection and humanitarian professional, with over a decade of experience working at global, regional, and national levels in a broad range of capacities, including technical assistance, coordination, research and measurement, and policy and advocacy. Much of her work has involved working with conflict-affected populations in West Africa and the Middle East. Layal has a detailed understanding of humanitarian coordination systems and working in inter-agency settings to achieve results. She has designed, facilitated, and led numerous trainings, mentoring, and learning initiatives. Her extensive research and measurement experience includes using participatory and mixed-methods approaches, in a variety of settings, and with diverse populations. She is adept at analysing and synthesizing data, taking into account diverse needs to make strategic policy and programmatic recommendations. She has successfully undertaken humanitarian and child protection advocacy with senior decision-makers in governments and the UN, including the UN Security Council, to influence outcomes for children. Layal holds a Master in Public Health from the Program on Forced Migration and Health at Columbia University.
