Drafted in collaboration with WHO, this UNICEF document on “Children, Isolation and Quarantine: Preventing Family Separation and Other Child Protection Considerations during the COVID-19 Pandemic”  aims at assisting Child Protection and Health actors to preserve family unity as the pandemic continues, in line with recommended infection prevention and control measures for the COVID-19 disease and will support advocating for protective actions, develop SOPs between CP and health actors, and advise or assist with the setup of isolation and quarantine centres.

The guidance explores in detail: Quarantine and isolation measures and their impacts on family separation (A), Recommendations to Prevent Family Separation (B), Key Child Protection Considerations to Promote or Restore Family Unity (C), Preparatory Actions to Prevent and Respond to Family Separation (D), Actions to Promote Family Unity if a Child is Admitted to a Facility (E), Actions to Promote Family Unity if a Primary Caregiver is be Admitted to a Facility (F), Procedures in Quarantine and Isolation Facilities (G) and ends with recommended resources (H).
