Summary:
MiracleFeet seeks an Associate Director of Programs (ADP) to spearhead and enhance operational efficiency within the MiracleFeet Programs Team and drive innovative program operations. We are in search of a transformative leader with strong experience collaborating with international partner organizations, thriving in fast-paced and dynamic environments, and excelling in enriching and streamlining program operations while effectively managing change and multiple operational initiatives concurrently. Fluency in multiple languages and a track record of implementing development programs, ideally in global health, across diverse cultural settings and contexts are required traits and mandatory characteristics. Reporting directly to the Director of Programs, the ADP will provide critical support to the programs team in various capacities and step into key leadership roles such as Interim Senior Program Field Officer, Program Manager, or Program Director as needed.
The ADP's primary focus will be on enhancing numerous programmatic operations and overseeing some direct program initiatives. This includes supporting the expansion of MiracleFeet into new countries and partnerships, advancing key operational aspects of MiracleFeet's broad clubfoot treatment agenda, and serving as the operational programmatic contact to ensure organizational support for the design and implementation of the Technical Team's efforts to enhance treatment quality. The ADP will also be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the programmatic annual operating plan, supervising select members of the program team, driving operational strengthening and improvements within the program team, and managing program resources efficiently.
This is a full-time remote position that requires consistent support to team members across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, along with frequent travel to these regions. Candidates' time zones and locations (preferably near a convenient airport hub and in a partner country) will be considered, with a strong preference given to candidates based in one of our partner countries.
Essential Functions:
Operationalizing Program Management & Implementation:
- Develop and execute operational strategies to fulfill ongoing annual operating plans and emphasize efficiency and effectiveness in program delivery.
- Lead the dissemination, implementation, and enforcement of operational program standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all programs activities.
- Collaborate closely with department leads (Communications/Marketing, Technical and Administration/Finance) to align work plans and timelines with operational outcomes and measurements, ensuring seamless support for program teams.
- Work with regional teams to establish, track, and optimize operational goals that drive program performance and impact.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and guidelines for program implementation, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all regions.
- Monitor program performance and outcomes, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Coordinate with finance and administration teams to ensure accurate and timely budgeting, financial reporting, and resource (re)allocation for program activities.
- Proactively manage programmatic goals through strategic follow-up, coordination, and troubleshooting with regional teams to address operational challenges and maximize program effectiveness.
- Provide oversight of the Programs' annual budget in partnership with the Director of Programs, ensuring optimal resource allocation for program operations. Assume management responsibility for any regional portfolio in absence of the Program Manager, executing operational tasks as needed and assigned by the Director.
Program Development & Strategic Planning:
- Support the Director of Programs in providing strategic direction for priority programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational goals and organizational strategy.
- Plan and execute major program/project activities that require cross-department collaboration, recommending initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness in response to clubfoot challenges, and ensuring alignment with GCI’s RunFree 2030 strategy and policy agenda.
- Help promote and operationalize MiracleFeet’s values including equity, diversity, belongingness, and inclusion among programs team.
- Facilitate inclusive planning processes and promote effective teamwork across the Programs Team, emphasizing operational efficiency and collaboration.
- Support the development and implementation of organizational effectiveness capacity strengthening for partners and provide ongoing strategic planning assistance for program staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively facilitate program implementation.
- Support the development of grant proposals and donor reporting efforts, providing operational input and ensuring alignment with program objectives and strategies.
Knowledge Management & Thought Leadership:
- Support the Director of Programs in developing and implementing organizational priorities and strategic approaches, providing operational input and ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Monitor and analyze trends and issues in global health and international development, identifying opportunities for program improvement and innovation in line with MiracleFeet's Operating Plan.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing and learning among partners and stakeholders through the organization of regional and thematic knowledge exchange events, ensuring that key learnings are captured and disseminated.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other teams, contributing operational expertise and ensuring that project activities are aligned with program goals.
- Engage in organization-wide initiatives and working groups, providing operational support and contributing to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Product and Monitoring and Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning team to ensure data collection and reporting align with program goals.
- Support the Director of Programs in providing technical assistance and capacity-building support to regional program staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in public health, social development, international development, child development, or other related field.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in program management required, ideally in public health, child protection, or child-oriented development across different continents.
- Demonstrated experience in partner capacity strengthening and mentoring.
- Demonstrated passion for the mission of the organization, a strong dedication to partners and stakeholders, and an ability to maintain excellent partner relations.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing racial equity; respectful of differences of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ability, and socio-economic circumstances.
- A thoughtful professional who values and actively works to foster an equitable and inclusive experience for everyone in their work.
- Professional proficiency in English is required, and French, Arabic or Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Ability to travel (up to 40% of the time).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong global network (in global health, human rights, child protection, or similar), as well as the gravitas and skills to engage key high-level stakeholders.
- Clear alignment with MiracleFeet’s approach and organizational values, including a deep capacity to work with and for regional initiatives to facilitate the sustainable treatment of clubfoot globally.
- Commitment to realizing the incredible potential of clubfoot national programs and effective national leadership as pathways to long-term mechanisms in ending clubfoot disability globally.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with public health systems, and communities using participatory approaches.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams remotely, across time zones and countries.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ample proven experience preparing reports, concept notes and other documentation; detailed-oriented; superior organization skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret program data; ability to use data to drive decision-making and share that information to multiple audiences.
- Ability to understand and manage the power differential in the funder-partner relationship as well as the ability to handle all relationships with humility and respect.
- Strong background with/in public health program implementation or advocacy initiatives.
- An open, analytical, critical thinking mindset as well as a keen interest in learning.
Salary/Benefits:
- Please note that this is a remote position with a very strong preference for candidates based in one of our partner countries. The post-holder will need to hold regular standing meetings with team members across Asia, Africa and Latin America, as well as travel regularly to these regions. Thus, candidates’ time zones and location (i.e.: near a convenient airport hub) will be taken into account.

- Salary commensurate with experience and country compensation levels.
- The position is on a contract basis. MiracleFeet will not be offering a US-based employment contract if the candidate is located outside the US.
