ROLE PURPOSE: Save the Children Thailand has been implementing the project “Highlighting Equality and Respect Towards all SOGIESC” or “HEARTS” since 2020. In its second phase, HEARTS II aims to ensure that children and youth with diverse SOGIESC can enjoy their rights through 1) holding the government accountable; 2) mainstreaming SOGIESC and child rights among LGBTIQ+ and child rights organizations; 3) protecting children and youth with diverse SOGIESC in their communities.
HEARTS II project works closely with the schools in Bangkok to promote SOGIESC-inclusive education, by supporting the students, teachers, and parents to take actions. These initiatives align with the government’s commitments that the project advocates for. HEARTS II project also works internally and externally to promote SOGIESC inclusion among child rights and LGBTIQ+ rights organizations. HEARTS II project implements until December 2025.
The SOGIESC and Child Rights Project Assistant will assist the SOGIESC and Child Rights Expert and Project Coordinator in project implementation and coordination, including monitoring and evaluation. The SOGIESC and Child Rights Project Assistant will closely work with the schools and relevant stakeholders to promote SOGIESC inclusion.

- Role Dimensions: The SOGIESC and Child Rights Project Assistant will work closely with the schools to support the students, teachers, and parents, in actions to promote SOGIESC inclusion. This role also includes coordination with the government agencies and CSOs.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Implementation:
- Assist SOGIESC and Child Rights Expert and Project Coordinator to ensure that all planned activities are implemented on time, to quality measures and within budget as per the monthly plan. Where challenges arise, ensure that these are flagged early, communicated to SOGIESC and Child Rights Expert and Project Coordinator and addressed in a timely manner way.
- Support in organizing events, workshops, trainings, and meetings with students, teachers, parents, CSOs, government agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
- Co-facilitate activities and workshops as needed (mostly on SOGIESC and child rights).
- Support the SOGIESC and Child Rights Expert and Project Coordinator and MEAL officer in implementing the project’s monitoring and evaluation plan.
- Support the SOGIESC and Child Rights Expert and Project Coordinator and Communication & Advocacy Coordinator in implementing the project’s communication & advocacy plan.
- Support in the preparation of all procurement and administrative documents required for program implementation.
- Ensure that the project is implemented in ways that are responsive to communities and children, in line with SC’s principles, values and strategic plan and compliant with SC’s procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Arts, Business Administration, Social Science or related fields.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years of experience relevant to the advertised role.
- Experience in project management.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office).
- Fluency in Thai
- Good understanding on gender equality and diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team setting, with good interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in working with children or schools are desirable
- Good communication in English is desirable
- Experience in co-facilitating workshops are desirable
