Localisation Mission
The goal of the Alliance’s Localisation Initiative is to transform ways of working in the child protection sector, rooted in the sharing of capacity, expertise, opportunity, and the intentional shift of power and resources to community, local, and national actors. The initiative is led by the Localisation Advisory Group, who will advise on the process and technical elements to implement and monitor the localisation objectives of the Alliance Strategy 2021-2025.
Objectives
Localisation is a strategic priority of the Alliance over 2021-2025. Over this period the Localisation Initiative will aim to:
- To effectively engage the Alliance in localisation and decolonisation initiatives;
- To develop and implement the Alliance’s Localisation Strategic Plan, with specific emphasis on strengthening representation, participation, and leadership of local and national actors;
- To prioritise and fundraise for localisation-specific actions to be taken by the Alliance, as distinct and complementary entities (Steering Committee, Executive Committee, Working Groups, Task Forces, Initiatives, and Advisory Groups);
- To shape the implementation of advocacy on localisation within the Alliance, and in collaboration with other stakeholders in the humanitarian system, with a strong child protection focus.
