Türkiye: Child Protection Officer
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
Required:
- At least one year of experience in child protection (CP) project implementation
- Experience in facilitation of workshops and engaging in direct contact with children and caregivers, from different nationalities
- Technical skills in supporting psychosocial support projects with an experience on applying participatory approaches
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with children
- Ability to lead groups and work well in a team setting
- Positive and professional attitude
- Clear understanding of gender issues, needs and ability of children with disabilities
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the event of major emergencies
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Turkish
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in fluid context.
- Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding.
Desired:
- Experience with refugee/marginalized communities
- Competence in written and spoken Arabic
- Background in social work, psychology, psychological counselling, or any similar experiences
- Knowledge of bullying projects implementation would be an added value
Position holder will be based in Istanbul, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application.
