United States: Temp Youth Program Administrative Support
**Job Overview:**
The vision of the IRC Washington’s Youth and Education Department is that youth from refugee and immigrant backgrounds will have the skills and resources necessary to pursue a future of opportunity. The Youth and Education Department works towards this vision by providing educational and enrichment opportunities to help school-aged youth from refugee and immigrant backgrounds catch up on missed education, adjust to their new school, accelerate English language development, and build positive relationships in the school and community. This position will support the Youth and Education Department with important administrative tasks to launch the new Academic Year. This position will support and work with various team members under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Youth Program Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
Contract Support:
- Manage delegated action items and timelines for grant contracts from their pre-award stage to their final signing
- Liaison with relevant district personnel or IRC departments as delegated
- Review minute details and track signature to ensure accurate submission
- Transition from big picture to detail as guided to ensure that various steps of the process have been completed
- Proactively communicate and complete steps to ensure timely completion of the processes while allowing time to troubleshoot challenges
Administrative Support:
- Support with Safe and Healing Classrooms Booklet Preparation and all steps involved
- Support with department wide initiatives such as community events, including planning, organizing, communicating with external partners, preparing materials and more
Other:
- Participate in program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engage as a member of the IRC team.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency, including COVID Health and Safety guidelines for in-person instruction.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Position Reports to: Sr. Program Manager for Youth and Education

- Other Internal and/or external contacts:
- Internal: Youth Program Team, AmeriCorps Members, other IRC Seattle staff
- External: EL Teachers at partner school districts
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; BA in Education, Child/Youth Development or related degree preferred.
- Driver’s license and insurance
- Flexible and adaptable – able to quickly problem solve and change plans and activities according to Department needs or unexpected circumstances. Experience working with multi-lingual students and families.
- Strong ability to remain organized, keep attention to detail, and manage time.
- Experience proactively communicating needs, changes, and status updates in a team environment
- English proficiency, both spoken and written, proficiency in another language is preferred
- Cross cultural experience; connection and experience working with communities from refugee and/or immigrant backgrounds.
- Experience and proficiency utilizing online platforms such as Zoom and Teams, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Committed to anti-racism and continual learning and growth.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing program and student needs.
- Team player willing to provide support to other staff and students.
Working Environment:**
- Some office work required at IRC’s office in SeaTac, WA.
- Standard office setting at IRC’s office in SeaTac and remote within the King County vicinity; Occasional evening or weekend activities as needed.

- Need access to reliable high-speed internet from remote office or ability to work from IRC’s office in SeaTac.
- Need access to reliable transportation to travel and work off-site at programs or events
- Typical schedule will be Monday - Friday 9:00 – 5:00 or 10:00 – 6:00.
Timeframe: This is a short term contract with an end date of October 31, 2023
Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
