Jordan: Family Care Coordinator
Managing the Family Care Unit:
- Oversee the implementation of the SOS Children’s Village program approach in alignment with established quality standards.
- Monitor all areas of care in coordination with the team to ensure comprehensive and appropriate care for children in family care.
- Support and develop local community activities and build partnerships with government entities and local organizations.
- Monitor staff performance in family care and provide technical support and guidance.
Supporting and Guiding Colleagues:
- Supervise the team in the field of family care and provide necessary support for efficient service delivery.
- Offer training programs for staff involved in family care to ensure a healthy and safe environment for children.
- Implement human resource management principles, such as recruitment, guidance, performance management, and other administrative decisions.
Building Strong Relationships with Families and Caregivers:
- Spend time interacting with children and youth to understand them and provide support throughout their development stages.
- Establish a safe family care environment according to approved standards.
- Coordinate with local government entities and caregivers to ensure continuous high-quality care.
- Support advocacy activities and enhance communication with local media.
Child Protection:
- Coordinate with the Child Protection Team and raise awareness about child protection issues in the local community.
- Manage and document child protection incidents with the protection team.
- Provide consultation and advice to staff on child protection matters.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in social sciences, education, psychology, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in family care and management.
- Ability to work in a child and youth care environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt strategies to changing circumstances.
