Webinar | Cash interventions and child protection outcomes for children
The Cash and Child Protection Task Force is hosting a webinar, featuring a child protection cash intervention programme.
Street Child is a child centered organisation that specialises in integrated solutions to education and protection for children in chronically poor or conflict and crisis affected contexts. In recognition of the complex, compounding barriers that children and families face, the organisation operates an innovative model that combines cash and social support to sustain the child cognitive development and wellbeing.
In this presentation, Marcello Viola (Programmes Director, Nigeria and Mozambique) and Mohammed Turay (Programmes Manager, Sierra Leone) will present their Family Business Scheme approach that has proven effective in low resource environments and emergencies and supports in enhancing family resilience in humanitarian crisis and creating an enabling environment for preventing and responding to child protection risks. The speakers will present evidence from programmes in Nigeria and Sierra Leone and propose possibilities for the child protection sector to consider how cash interventions can contribute to child protection outcomes for children.
