How can child protection and food security actors move from understanding the links between the two sectors to designing and implementing truly integrated programmes in practice?

The Alliance is pleased to invite child protection (CP) and food security (FS) practitioners and coordinators to a new series of clinics on Integrated Child Protection and Food Security Programming in Humanitarian Action.

Building on the Integrated CP–FS Toolbox, these interactive clinics will provide an opportunity to move from tools and guidance to practical application. Practitioners from different contexts will share concrete operational, organisational, and inter-agency experiences, including approaches that are working, challenges they have encountered and solutions they are testing.

Together, we will explore how intentional integration can help CP and FS actors work towards shared outcomes for children and families.

Clinic 1: How do we design integrated CP–FS programmes?
🗓 1 December | ⏰ 14:00-15:30 CET |📍 Zoom | 🔗 REGISTER HERE
🌐 Simultaneous Interpretation available in French, Spanish, and Arabic.
🔹 Explore how assessment, analysis, and evidence can inform integrated CP–FS programme design. Through practical examples and discussion, we will look at how understanding the links between child protection and food security risks can influence assessment, analysis, targeting and programme design—and help CP and FS actors move beyond parallel activities and mainstreaming towards intentional integration and shared outcomes.

Clinic 2: How do we implement and monitor integrated CP–FS programmes?
🗓 15 December | ⏰ 14:00-15:30 CET |📍 Zoom | 🔗 REGISTER HERE
🌐 Simultaneous Interpretation available in French, Spanish, and Arabic.
🔹 Explore what intentional CP–FS integration looks like during implementation and how we understand whether it is working. We will discuss practical approaches to integration, from connecting children and families with food, cash, livelihoods and child protection services through functional two-way referrals, to integrating child protection considerations into food security activities, strengthening child-friendly feedback and participation, jointly monitoring results, and adapting programmes based on learning.

Who should join?

The clinics are designed for child protection and food security practitioners and coordinators working across different humanitarian contexts, alongside global and regional CP–FS technical colleagues.

Whether you are already implementing integrated programming, beginning to explore CP–FS approaches, or looking to learn from experiences in other contexts, we invite you to join the conversation, share your experiences and learn alongside others.

See you there!
