The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action convened more than 800 participants around a vital theme: Protection of Children from the Ground Up – Enhancing Localised Approaches in Conflict and Crises. At a time when conflicts are intensifying, funding is contracting, and the global humanitarian system is going through considerable change, this year’s meeting served as a critical moment to reflect on the power—and necessity—of locally led child protection action.

This blog series brings together personal reflections from Alliance members and partners. Through these voices, we explore how, in the face of fragmentation and fatigue, the child protection sector is pushing back: reaffirming its core principles, forging stronger partnerships, and insisting that children's safety, dignity, and rights remain central to humanitarian action. In particular, we explore how local leadership, principled partnerships, and collective resolve are shaping the future of child protection in humanitarian settings—from the ground up. Check back on this page as blogs will be added on a rolling basis.
