Objective of the Position:
The Partnerships and Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating relations with TdH NL's strategic partners at national level, in particular the organizations represented in Tana. The Partnerships and Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the development plans of partner organizations are effectively implemented and achieve the objectives set. He/she will also be responsible for implementing the organization's advocacy strategy. The Partnerships and Advocacy Coordinator will ensure that the objectives of the advocacy strategy are consistent with the organization's strategic objectives, and will then be responsible for proposing and implementing concrete advocacy actions. The position is therefore intended to have cross-functional responsibilities on different TdH NL projects.
Position in the Organisation:
The Project Coordinator is part of the Programmes department, works with the country team, and receives direct leadership and supervision from the Program Manager to whom they report. The Project Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Finance and Administration Officer, MEAL Officer and other team members; accountable for the coordination, oversight and delivery of all assigned Projects. This position is based in Tananarive office with travel to the projects’ sites.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate Partnership Activities:
- Ensure the implementation of TdH NL's partnership strategy and standard tools.
Implement TdH NL's partnership strategy in Madagascar. - Carry out mapping of organizations (NGOs, CSOs, private companies, UN agencies, etc.) that interact with TdH NL.
- Carry out evaluations of organizations according to the degree of partnership envisaged with TdH NL.
- Carry out the skills development plan.
- Implement the skills development plan for each partnership relationship.
- Organize bilateral strengthening sessions according to available resources and needs.
- Organize and conduct specific technical workshops within the framework of partnership relationships (steering committees, partnership workshops, etc.).
- Evaluate partnership relations on a regular basis.
- Evaluate the development of partners' skills.
2. Coordination of Advocacy and Lobbying Activities:
- Finalize the advocacy strategy for TdH NL's activities in Madagascar.
- Implement the advocacy strategy.
- Organize and carry out the collection of elements of projects that can feed advocacy actions.
- Participate in TdH NL's international advocacy activities.
- Train local partners in the planning and implementation of advocacy activities.
- Advise partners in the implementation of their advocacy activities.
3. Represent TdH NL:
- In consultation with the Country Director, represent TdH NL at specific events in Tananarive.
- Collect useful information from colleagues to ensure effective representation of the organization when necessary.
- Take minutes of meetings or workshops held in Tananarive.
- Facilitate the arrival of visitors or colleagues in Tananarive (logistical organization, practical and first explanations of security measures).
- Establish and maintain links with administrative bodies in Tanarive (notably the ministries).

4. Contribute in Implementation of Effective Fundraising:
- Dedicate work hours for fundraising activities such as donor mapping, connecting to donors, proposal development and so on.
- Contribute to development of Project Proposals.
- Contribute to donor reports in the prescribed format and submit to TdH-NL after receiving, review and revising reports from partner organisations.
- Support the marketing communication department with information and materials for marketing and communication. Project will attract publicity from state, national and international media.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
The ideal candidate knows the context of international NGOs and development actors in Madagascar. Skills in training engineering and advocacy are essential. Knowledge of the child protection context in Madagascar is a great asset.
- A masters degree in a relevant field, such as sociology, development studies, programme/project management or child rights;
- Minimum of four years experience in Advocacy and Partnership Management, with at least two years of experience in a similar position;
- Skills and organizational development;
- Knowledge of the development context in Madagascar (different stakeholders, relationships between them, positioning, etc.);
- Expertise in advocacy, specifically in the child protection sector.
