Webinar | CAAFAG and COVID-19
This webinar will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on programmes for children associated with armed forces and groups. Through key messages and considerations related to these programmes, this webinar will bring together child protection professionals working in Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Central African Republic to discuss challenges, good practices, and lessons learned.
Regardless of how long a child spends in armed forces or groups, they are at serious risk of physical, psychological and sexual violence and death. Preventing the recruitment of children and removing them from armed forces and groups, responding to their needs and supporting them in their reintegration process are all interventions that can save their lives. Child protection agencies face several challenges when engaging in ACW prevention and response programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. These challenges include ensuring the continuity of services that support both prevention and reintegration, maintaining ongoing engagement with community actors, and identifying resources.
This webinar is an opportunity to hear from colleagues in the field about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected CAAFAG programmes in their context, how they are responding, and what their priorities are for the future.
We look forward to your participation.
