In the second instalment of the Empowering Child Protection through Evidence Webinar Series, presented by the Alliance, the CPAoR, and UNHCR, this webinar will feature case studies demonstrating how child protection actors can use data and evidence to inform their response, monitoring, and planning in humanitarian contexts.

In today’s increasingly complex crises and with the abundance of data sources, it's crucial to effectively utilise secondary data and advanced tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make well-informed decisions in a timely manner and maximise available resources. The webinar will also delve into the critical role of secondary data analysis, emphasising its potential to bridge information gaps and optimise resource allocation when primary data collection is not feasible. This session will demonstrate how existing data, often gathered for different purposes, can be analysed, synthesised, and repurposed to guide interventions, track progress, and ensure more effective protection responses for vulnerable children.

Experts will share innovative approaches used at the global and national level to maximise existing tools and data to inform child protection response, programming, and planning.

Speakers:

  • Anne Marie Turmine, Information Management Specialist, Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CPAoR)
  • Jessica Stuart-Clark, Child Protection Officer, UNHCR Headquarters, Division of International Protection (UNHCR)
  • Stephanie Acker, Co-Lead Assessment Measurement and Evidence Working Group, the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action
