Call for Applications! Online Training for Primary Prevention Focal Points
The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, with support from USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, is offering a learning opportunity on the Primary Prevention Framework. The course aims to prepare child protection focal points who intend to introduce and disseminate the Primary Prevention Framework in their organization and context.
What will you learn?
By the end of the learning journey, you will be able to:
- Differentiate between the three levels of prevention in child protection in humanitarian action and provide examples of each
- Discuss ways to apply the prevention guiding principles throughout the programme cycle
- Demonstrate participatory ways to identify risk and protective factors with community members
- Demonstrate how to analyse risk and protective factors to inform prevention programme design
- Draft logical framework for primary prevention in CPHA programming
- Reflect on the challenges, opportunities and benefits of primary prevention programming in their own work and context
- Identify the next steps to roll out the framework and the support available
Who is this opportunity for?
This learning opportunity is for mid to senior level child protection practitioners, with at least 5 years of experience in child protection in humanitarian action programming, who are responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating and advocating for child protection programming. It is essential that the course participants intend to introduce the Primary Prevention Framework in their organizations, context and in current or future programmes.
Schedule:
The course is free and comprises six online sessions that will take place in May 2023 as it follows:
- Session 1: Tuesday, May 2nd 14:00 – 17:30 CET
- Session 2: Thursday, May 4th 14:00 – 17:30 CET
- Session 3: Tuesday, May 9th 14:00 – 17:30 CET
- Session 4: Thursday, May 11th 14:00 – 17:30 CET
- Session 5: Tuesday, May 16th 14:00 – 17:30 CET
- Session 6: Thursday, May 18th 14:00 – 17:30 CET
After the live sessions, the Alliance will organise follow up sessions to assist the participants in the process of socializing and using the Primary Prevention Framework in their contexts and organizations.
In order to receive a certificate of completion, the participants will have to attend at least five live sessions and at least one follow up session.
The detailed agenda will be shared at a later stage. The sessions will be delivered remotely via Zoom. Participants are expected to have access to a stable internet connection and have a functioning camera and mic.
The sessions will not be recorded and active participation is expected from all participants throughout the course.
Participation Requirements:
Participants are expected to:
- Participate actively in the online training sessions and at least one follow up session;
- Commit to share the primary prevention framework in their organizations and context by either delivering a training or introducing the framework in current or future programming.
